In the quest of
survival among the giants like Samsung and other android phones, Nokia had to come
out with something which could provide them a breather. The odds quite high and
the reputation at stake, Nokia launched Asha series and they really struck the
gold this time. Having said that Nokia did some good homework, Nokia has been
experimenting vigorously and thus, came up some interesting variants of mobiles.
While launching Asha series, they might have well observed that your phone
clunk its way through loading an app really makes your mood upset, so they worked
on it and the result is Asha 311.
With a fast 1Ghz
processor and Nokia’s own Series 40 operating system they are to take
on with the android phones in the same budget range. I suppose they gambled and
it has been well taken by the users as the response seems good.
Like Asha
302, this phone also has been powered with 1GHz Arm 11 chip. It has a good 128
MB RAM and 256 ROM but mind it; you will be able to store a data of around 130
MB only. To say precisely just 25 songs! It can support upto 32 GB of external
card and the good point is that these days microSD cards are cheap. This is
apart from the gift of 2 GB which the vendor may give you as an additional gift
to cheer up because it might later annoy you why every time you want to change
the card and you will have to remove battery first.
The camera
is a 3.2 mega pixel primary. But I have always been poor operator honesty. I
just don’t understand how sometimes a 2 MP camera have better picture than a
3.2 MP. I won’t say anything on it. At
25 frame per second speed you
will have to maneuver the camera with patience or you will have a blurred of
motion altogether later on.
Nokia has
always well on battery life. The BL-4U model battery lasts quite long and with
a single recharge you can reach to your destination by train listening music or
watching the video!
Made of plain plastic frame of the
Nokia Asha 311 does not give the premium feeling of Nokia's high end models
like Lumia series or windows phone but the structure is a robust one. Despite
this, the phones give a good feeling while holding.
In comparison to contemporary android and window phones,
the 3 inch screen seemed smaller. The touch experience is same as any other
phone but then we know these days touching has been electrifying isn’t that? So
no complaint for that. Maneuvering with those just two buttons through the
whole menu initially appeared impossible but these days mostly everything in on
touch so who cares? On the right wall
panel you can use the button to control the volume of the multimedia file and
to lock. At the top of edge there is slot for headphone for quality music,
charging socket and microSD
USB port.
To conclude, at this price range, Nokia Asha 311
gives a new feel from a routine android phones and this makes it a very good
bet.
